Summary: 

The following presentation by the mayor of Yangcheon-gu discusses the case of social economy adapted specifically to a district of Seoul. The presentation provides a brief overview of the district and presents the vast differences that lie within this one district, especially in regards to the vast gap between the old and new area of the district. In this sense, Yangcheon-gu adapted social economy as the solution to overcome these issues. The presentation looks in detail the stature of governance in Yangcheon-gu and various methods taken by the district, at the governance sector, to encourage the active participation of its residents. Furthermore, the presentation touches on various support organisations and other methods taken by the district to foster social entrepreneurs and resurrect local manufacturers.
