International Women's Day

International Women's Day (IWD) - 8th of March

GSEF joins Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) actors from around the globe to celebrate International Women's Day (IWD) on the 8th of March.

More than 100 years ago, the deterioration of labour conditions and subsequent women victims in the US ignite the global movements of improving women's rights. In 1975 the efforts were consolidaited further through the UN's officially endorsement of the 8th of March as International Women's Day.

Women's rights are central to the values of social economy and the GSEF calls for all SSE actors to celebrate IWD and take necessary actions to promote gender equality.
