Summary

The overall goal of the Global Platform for the Right to the City is the recognition and inclusion of the Right to the City (R2C) framework into the Urban and Habitat Global Agendas as well as into local and national policies. This will be achieved through expanding the R2C network, consolidating a constituency and developing standard-setting through an international multi-stakeholder platform. The Platform facilitates the participation of the different stakeholders in habitat policy development at national, regional and international levels. Its inclusive forum open to different sectors working on the Right to the City issues ensures: i) general and regular exchange of information, analysis and experiences; ii) capacity building of relevant actors; iii) development of common positions to influence policies and governments at different levels; iv) organization of national, regional and international networking and advocacy events.
