Summary

Santo Ángel por dentro is a comprehensive community development program, based in the Historic Center of Havana, that emerged from efforts to recover, promote and disseminate the patrimonial legacy of the Santo Ángel neighbourhood, thereby bolstering the local culture and society. The project is managed as a private undertaking by a Social and Solidarity Economy actor in collaboration with the City of Havana Historian’s Office. This public-private interaction has enabled the participation in programs and activities for the economic, social, cultural and environmental development of the territory, including the from a gender perspective, thereby improving the quality of life and the welfare of the members of the community. This community plays an active role in its development through theme workshops that bring together different generations.
