ILGSSE hosts session on 'Social economy, source of job creation and social cohesion'

On the occasion of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New-York, the  International Leading Group on Social and Solidarity Economy (ILGSSE) chaired by France invites you to take part in its 5th meeting that will take place at  265 West 37th Street from 2pm to 5pm.

 The reflections will focus on the current and potential contribution of SSE to employmentwork andsocial cohesion. This model is indeed well suited to reorient entrepreneurship, create decent and quality jobs, and to reinforce social cohesion in our societies, while positively tapping the radical changes underway in the world of work.

 The event will be chaired by Christophe ITIER, High Commissioner for social and solidarity economy and social innovation, and Secretary of State to the Minister of Ecological and Solidarity Transition (France). The discussions will also be led by Thierry Jeantet, Chairman of the SSE International Forum, and will benefit from the presence of numerous experts among whom Monique Barbut, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification,  Philip Alston, UN Special rapporteur on poverty and human rights, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Abdou Salam Fall, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of SSE Forum International, LARTES Laboratory in Senegal,...

 Representatives of States, UN agencies, funds and programs, SSE organizations and civil society will identify together SSE solutions to employment and work with a view to feeding the ILGSSE's local, national and international action program.
