Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF)
February Edition 2019

Motivated by the success of GSEF2018 in Bilbao, GSEF is determined to engage with more Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) practitioners and related government officials in different regions for fostering the growth of SSE worldwide in the year 2019. Since January 2019, GSEF has expanded with new members and also new staff at the secretariat. This new strength will help GSEF to flourish and consolidate its role as a hub for sharing visions and experiences of SSE. |

With the approval of the Steering Committee, GSEF welcomed 8 new members to our family:

GSEF attended the International Conference on the Localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Co-Construction of the Means of Implementation between 23th and 24th February, jointly organized by IPAID and UNRISD.
Co-hosted by GSEF, the Asian Edition of the UNTFSSE Conference "Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals: What Role for Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) (I) and (II)" was held as Special Sessions of the Conference.

Our partners, Seoul Human Resource Development Center (SHRDC) and Metropolis Training center, are going to host the Metropolis training & learning program throughout the year of 2019.

Our member, RIPESS, is going to organize VII ELACESS 2019 held in San José de Costa Rica, from 27th February to 2nd March.
The objective of the 7th RIPESS Latin American and the Caribbean Regional Meeting (VII ELACESS 2019) is to agree on a regional vision and common advocacy agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean with the participation of the organizations working in the solidarity and ecological economies, fair trade, self-management of common goods, food sovereignty and good living by promoting a transformative economy.
