Fairtrade International and the World Fair Trade Organisation initiated an International Fair Trade Charter, which has been supported and backed by more than 300 organisations.

The charter demands benefits of global trade to be equally shared with stakeholders, including farmers, workers, consumers and producers and highlights the critical role that the fundamental values of Fair Trade can play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
