Summary:

The Bottom of The Pyramid, a term used to represent the majority of a society, in the case of Bandung is young people below the age of 40, which is represented by 68% of its 2.5 million citizens. Bandung, also well known for its creative traits, reinforced this reputation by becoming a member of UNESCO Creative Cities Network since December 2015. On one hand, the economic growth of Bandung is up to 8.8%, the highest in Indonesia on the other hand, 20% of its citizens still live in poverty, causing a number of severe social problems. Considering these issues, Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF) established the Social Creative Economy initiatives that aim to solve social problems within the urban context by involving Bandung’s abundant youth and their creative talents as the spearheads of the initiative programs.
