Organised by KPIA (Karl Polanyi Institute Asia), the 14th International Karl Polanyi Conference will be held from 12 ~ 14th October in Asia (Seoul) for the first time in its editions. The central theme of the 14th Karl Polanyi Conference is ''The Great Formation & Contemporary Crises'' and the conference will address a wide range of social economy topics based on the theory of Karl Polanyi and their implications for contemporary crises. Renowned academics in the field such as Prof. Marguerite Mendell (Concordia University) and Prof. Kari Polanyi Levitt (Mcgill University) will be presenting keynote speeches on both historical, theoretical background and contemporary relevance. Along with various seminars and workshops there will be a networking event for researchers from around the world at the Embassy of Canada in Seoul on the 12th.
